Just gotta accept the fact...

So I'm kind of confused because apparently every little kid here thinks that I look like Mr. Bean, but all the young women say I look like Enrique Gil. They do say that little kids are brutally honest...all I know is that God looks on the heart.

We had a pretty good week this week. We had mission President interviews which was good as always. We have MLC this Thursday, and Zone conference next week.

We are teaching a part member family that is going through heaps of trials. The tatay is a member, so we are teaching his wife and grandson. Nanay Maria fe (his wife) got hit by a motorcycle the other day while she was crossing the street and the driver just drove off. So she has a deep wound and no money to pay for medicine. On the other hand, Tatay almost got fired from his job because he left a water pump running in the field by accident. His boss is the one that owns the land that his house is on so he threatened to take it away if something like that happens again. I honestly started to get a little teary eyed as they were telling us everything they were going through. I had a strong impression to share these following verses.

3 Nephi 13:

31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

32 For your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.

34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow, for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient is the day unto the evil thereof.

After sharing that, we promised that if they would make time to come to church, that the windows of heaven would be opened, and that they would receive countless blessings. Tatay then said, "I can see that this is all just a test of my faith. I think Heavenly Father is asking for my family to show our faith". It was really an amazing experience and the Spirit was very strong during our visit with them. We invited him to say the closing prayer. He prayed for patience to endure their trials, and for his boss to be more understanding and let him come to church on Sunday. We are praying that they will be able to make it to church next week.

We went to our investigator Tatay Calma, and when we got to his house we were surprised to find that he had brought his brothers so that they could listen to our message! It was awesome! Tatay Calma is a barangay kagawad (a government official for the neighborhood,) so he's pretty busy, but he always seems to make time for us. They are super nice guys.

Anyways, we spent the night in Dinalupihan last night so we could wake up and play basketball with them. It's been a good P-day. Well, I'm thankful for all you do. Take care and ingat palagi po!
