Budol fight tayo!

That moment when you just want to be a true Filipino and eat with your hands...but you don't know how to eat rice with your hands, so they laugh at you and watch in agony as you try to be like them but they end up asking if you just want to use a spoon instead. #heyJoe.

So that was my week this week (sorry for the run on sentence). But to make a short story long, I don't know how to eat rice with my hands, and everyone thinks that is hilarious.

We had a pretty spectacular week this week. Elder Bednar came to Manila on Saturday and we were able to watch the broadcast as a stake. He talked a lot about home teaching and how it's not just showing up once a month and leaving a quick message. There are three necessary things that a home teacher must do. A home teacher MUST:
-Be with
-Watch over
-Strengthen
his family. Elder Bednar said "count whatever you want as home teaching. The numbers don't matter. What matters is that we are there for our assigned families, and that we are always watching out for them." Elder Bednar is awesome!

You guys are great! Don't forget to read your scriptures, but don't only read them FEAST on them. It is like the Chuck-a-rama of books. They are the Iron rod, the word of God! We should ever be pressing forward on to the tree of life! Keep praying, keep your covenants! Heavenly Father loves you!!!

Hello mga kaibigan

Pasensiya po talaga sa katamaran ko! (Apologies for my laziness)

I'm sorry to all my "fans" (as my mom tells me) for not writing a group letter in a while. Hopefully you will all forgive me, and I hope this will make up for #ElderFurnissletterdrought2017

This week was pretty awesome. I feel like we worked hard but got little success. Yesterday was a good day at church. Our lesson in gospel principles class was about prayer. There was a lady in that class that was just awesome! Her name is Sister Beth. She has been coming to church for quite a while now but she can't get baptized for at least 2 more years because she used to be married but her and her husband are now separated. There is a law here that you can't get divorced, so if you want to get baptized, you either have to get back with your spouse or be separated for at least 5 years. And if anyone is willing to wait 5 years to get baptized it's Sister Beth. Anyways we had an awesome lesson about prayer. At the end of the lesson, the teacher asked Sister Beth if she would be willing to give the closing prayer. The Spirit filled the room as she prayed, it was one of the most sincere prayers I had ever heard! She was so thankful for the missionaries and for being led to the true church. She is the definition of being truly converted to the Gospel.

I was feeling like a rebel Thursday night and decided to do something called the banana and sprite challenge. It's pretty much where you eat a kilo of bananas and drink two liters of sprite and see what happens next. I'm just gonna warn you if you want the worst acid reflux and heartburn you've ever experienced in your life...do the banana and sprite challenge. I won't be doing it with you.

I love listening to conference talks! One of my favorite conference talks of all time is tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you. If you get a chance, I encourage you to listen to that talk this week. Conference talks are awesome! Don't miss out on the opportunity to be constantly nourished by the words of our modern day prophets and apostles!

Thank you all for your love and support! I hope you are all staying warm in good old Idaho and Utah or wherever you are. You are awesome! Heavenly Father loves you!!!
